In April, we announced ClearChecks has been acquired by HireRight, and have merged the BackgroundChecks.com brand with the ClearChecks platform to bring you the best background screening experience possible.
As part of this merger, we are retiring the legacy BackgroundChecks.com platform on August 17, 2025.
Below you will find some frequently asked questions from customers migrating their accounts.
Will my account migrate automatically?
No. We are unable to migrate your account, and you must create an account on the new platform.
Will my business need to go through credentialing again?
No. We are working to make this process as simple and seamless as possible! Once logged in to your new account, you will be able to create teams and invite colleagues to the account. If you have questions setting up your team(s) or inviting colleagues, you can find our FAQ HERE.
Will the legacy platform still be available to view old reports?
Yes! We are only stopping ordering on the new platform on August 17th. You will still be able to login to view old reports, invoices, etc.
Can I still enter the applicants information to run background checks?
No. The new platform streamlines the process to send your applicants a secure link via their email address. We collect all the required disclosures and authorizations based on the federal, state, and local laws. We include disclosures for FCRA, specific state disclosures, and and local disclosures like San Francisco Fair Chance, Los Angeles FHIO, New York 23-A.
Will my pricing remain the same?
It depends. By default, the new platform has embedded loyalty volume discounts. If you run over 100 reports per month, you will see 10% automatically discounted from future orders in-month. No sales hassle! Please contact us if you have contracted pricing in your current agreement.
Do you offer invoicing?
Unless you are running over 250 reports per month, we will cease offering invoicing. The default method of payment is credit card. Unlike other websites, we do not pass along the payment processing fee.
