FCRA requirements for victims of human trafficking

ClearChecks is dedicated to assisting victims of human trafficking by offering a process to remove any adverse information resulting from human or sex trafficking situations. You have rights under FCRA.

Disputes or requests to block information resulting from human trafficking can be sent to ClearChecks via the contact methods below:

If you have a preferred method of communication, please let us know in your initial communication.

Requests to remove negative information stemming from human trafficking incidents must include the following in your communication:

  • Proof of identity: scanned driver’s license, passport, or other government-issued documents. The identification provided must contain your full legal name,

  • Documentation of trafficking: including one of the following types of victim determination:

    • federal, state, or tribal government entity

    • a non-governmental organization or a member of a government-authorized human trafficking task force

    • a court of competent jurisdiction containing documents confirming victim status

    • A signed statement by you or your representative affirming trafficking victim status, countersigned by a government entity, non-governmental organization, human trafficking task force, or court

Identification of Adverse Information:

We require you to explicitly specify the adverse information resulting from human trafficking for removal. We will utilize this information with your proof of identity to remove the adverse information required by FCRA.
