Background Check Restrictions for Minors ClearChecks will not process background checks for individuals who are not yet 18 years old. This applies to volunteers, interns, or any other candidates under this age limit.
Options for Existing Background Check Orders If you have already purchased a background check and realized the candidate is under 18, you can choose from the following options: A. Reassign the Background Check Link You can reassign the unused background check link to a new eligible candidate within 12 days of the purchase date. Follow these steps:
Go to the background reports tab and locate the specific order.
In the row of the order, click on the three dots under the Actions column.
From the dropdown menu that appears, select Resend or update email.
Enter the updated email address for the new candidate and select Update & Send Email. This will disable the link sent to the original email address and issue a new, updated link to the one you’ve provided. No additional charges will apply since the report has already been paid for.
Request a Refund If you prefer not to reassign the background check, you can request a cancellation for a refund. You will need to provide the email address associated with the original order to ensure the correct background check instance is canceled.
